In South India, mango was initially called Manga and Aamkay. After this, in the year 1498, the Portuguese trader started calling mango as mango. Gradually it came to be called mango. Its popularity started increasing due to its taste.

When he grew mango and it was liked a lot in the market, people wanted to know where this mango came from. When it was discovered that the farmer growing the new variety of mango was disabled, it started being called lame mango. Well, this could also be just a story.
How did Chausa get its name? This type of mango was named by Shershah Suri. It is said that in the year 1539, Sher Shah Suri defeated Humayun in a battle at a place named Chausa in Bihar. The celebration of this victory was held here and mango was also tasted here. The variety of mango eaten here was named Chausa.
