Harare: Before the three-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has given a big statement. He says that no one team can be considered a strong contender in this series, because both the teams have equal chances to win.
Speaking to reporters in Harare, Raza said that his team is completely confident about its performance. He said that Zimbabwe has played better cricket continuously in recent times and with the same confidence it will take the field against India.
Raza also mentioned India’s recent T20 performance. He said that the Indian team is currently going through a phase of change, which has made the match even more interesting. According to him, this series will not be one-sided in any respect.
India have been seen struggling in T20 cricket in recent months. The team had to face defeat in both the matches against Ireland, while in the five-match T20 series against England, it had to lose four matches and one match was abandoned due to rain. In such a situation, Team India will try to return to winning ways on the Zimbabwe tour.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe is also in good form. The team has registered notable wins this year against teams like Australia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Raza believes that this performance is increasing the confidence of his team.
The first match of the three-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe will be played on July 23, while the second and third matches will be held on July 25 and 26 respectively.
