NFR Announces Shravani Mela Special Train Service Between Katihar and Manihari

To facilitate the additional passenger rush during the forthcoming Shravani Mela, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to operate special train services between Katihar and Manihari under the Katihar Division. These special trains have been planned to ensure convenient and comfortable travel for thousands of devotees, pilgrims and travellers visiting the annual Shravani Mela.

The first pair of special trains, Train No. 07540/07539 (Katihar – Manihari – Katihar) Shravani Mela Special, will operate for 22 trips each. Train No. 07540 will depart from Katihar at 19:00 hours on  every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 25th July to 23rd August, 2026, reaching Manihari at 19:45 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 07539 will depart Manihari at 03:30 hours on every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 26th July to 24th August, 2026, arriving at Katihar at 04:15 hours. The service will make scheduled stoppages at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur enroute.

Additionally, Train No. 07542/07541 (Katihar – Manihari – Katihar) Shravani Mela Special will operate for 8 trips each. Train No. 07542 will leave Katihar at 20:30 hours on every Monday and Thursday from 27th July to 20th August, 2026, reaching Manihari at 21:15 hours. In the return direction Train No. 07541, will depart Manihari at 05:15 hours on every Tuesday and Friday from 28th July to 21st August, 2026 and arrive at Katihar at 06:00 hours, with intermediate stoppages at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur.

The operation of these special trains is aimed at providing enhanced connectivity and easing congestion during the Shravani Mela period. Northeast Frontier Railway remains committed to ensuring safe, convenient and efficient travel for pilgrims and passengers by augmenting train services in response to seasonal travel demand.
