Zimbabwe have made three key changes to their squad for the upcoming T20I series against India, with wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga earning his maiden call-up in the shortest format. He is joined by batting all-rounder Wessly Madhevere and fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri, both of whom have been drafted back into the side for the three-match home series.

The trio replaces Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, and Tashinga Musekiwa from the squad that travelled to Bangladesh earlier this month.

Nyamhuri, who had to cut short his ODI stint against Bangladesh due to a niggle, is now fully fit and back in contention. Interestingly, Tanaka Chivanga, who had replaced him for the third ODI, has managed to retain his place in the T20I setup.

Zimbabwe's recent form has been a mixed bag. They lost the T20I series against Bangladesh 2-1, but had earlier won the one-off Test by an innings and also clinched the ODI series. Captain Sikandar Raza knows his side face a stiff challenge against India, the reigning T20 world champions, even though the visitors have endured a rough patch since their World Cup triumph, losing 2-0 in Ireland and 4-0 in England.

It's worth noting that Zimbabwe had a memorable World Cup campaign themselves, beating Australia to reach the Super Eight stage. However, they fell short against India, losing by 72 runs, as well as to South Africa and West Indies.

For Tsiga, this call-up is a significant milestone. The 29-year-old has played ten Tests for Zimbabwe but is yet to feature in a white-ball international. Madhevere, on the other hand, is a familiar face; he featured in the Test and ODI series against Bangladesh but hasn't played a T20I since July 2025.

All three matches will be held at the Harare Sports Club on July 23, 25, and 26. With a revamped Indian side looking to bounce back and a determined Zimbabwe eager to make a statement, the series promises plenty of intrigue.
