Sawan Kanwar Yatra: Every year in the month of Sawan, lakhs of Shiva devotees go on Kanwar Yatra. Some bring Ganga water from Haridwar, some from Gangotri, Gaumukh or Sultanganj. Many devotees walk hundreds of kilometers to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. This journey is not only a symbol of faith, but is also considered a test of discipline, patience and service. If you are going on Kanwar Yatra for the first time, then it is important to know what to do and what to avoid during this journey.
1. Make a resolution before starting the journey
Kanwar Yatra is considered a religious fast. Therefore, before starting the journey, remember Lord Shiva in your mind and take a resolution with full devotion. Like: Many devotees reach Haridwar and fill water only after taking bath in Ganga.
2. Always keep Kanwar clean and with respect
Kanwar is not kept directly on the ground. Use a stand or special place for this.
3. Take care of cleanliness
Do not spread plastic, bottles or garbage on the way. Maintain cleanliness where you rest.
4. Obey traffic and administration instructions
At many places, separate lanes are made for Kanwar pilgrims. Following the instructions of the police and administration is important for everyone's safety.
5. Help needy passengers
Kanwar Yatra also teaches the spirit of service and cooperation. If a traveler becomes ill or gets lost, help him.
1. Do not take drugs at all
Stay away from alcohol, tobacco, gutkha and other intoxicants. These are considered prohibited in religious journey.
2. Do not fight or behave rudely
Avoid any dispute. The purpose of the journey is devotion, not display.
3. Do not perform loud DJ or dangerous stunts
In many states, the administration has banned loud noises, stunts and hooliganism.
4. Don't litter
Do not throw food packets, plastic and bottles on the road.
5. Don't ignore health
If you feel dizzy, have fever or feel dehydrated, go to the medical camp immediately.
