New Delhi: The last Pradosh fast of July 2026 is falling on Sunday this time. According to the Panchang, Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month will be celebrated on 26th July. Because it falls on a Sunday, it is called Ravi Pradosh Vrat. On this day, special worship of Lord Shiva is done and the fast is broken in the evening.
Ashadh Shukla Trayodashi Tithi will start from 1:57 pm on 26th July and will continue till 4:14 pm on 27th July. There is a religious belief that by observing Pradosh fast, obstacles in life are removed and wishes are fulfilled. Pradosh fast falling on Sunday is considered even more fruitful because on this day one receives the blessings of both Surya and Shiva. Devotees take a bath in the morning and take a vow to fast and remain virtuous throughout the day.
According to pundits, the time of Pradosh Puja is after sunset i.e. Pradosh Kaal. The main time of puja on 26th July will be from 7.16 pm to 9.21 pm. In this, the auspicious time will be from 7:16 to 8:34 pm and the auspicious time will be from 8:34 to 9:52 pm. Astrologers say that during this time, offering Abhishek of Shivling, Belpatra, Dhatura and water gives special results. Sunrise will be at 5:39 am and moonrise will be at 5:12 pm.
This time, a rare combination of Indra Yoga and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being formed on Ravi Pradosh. Indra Yoga will last from sunrise to 10:05 pm. Whereas Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will be from 7:34 am to 5:40 am on 27th July. The most important thing is that both the yogas will remain active throughout the duration of Pradosh Puja. It is believed that by worshiping Shiva done in Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, desires are fulfilled quickly.
According to the scriptures, on the day of Trayodashi, Lord Shiva performs Tandav on Kailash during Pradosh period and at this time he is most pleased with his devotees. Therefore, the worship of Pradosh Vrat is not done during the day but in the evening. Only regular worship can be done during the day.
Those observing fast should take bath in the morning and meditate on Shiva. In the evening, offer milk, water, belpatra and datura on Shivalinga."Om Namah Shivay" Chant the mantra and recite Pradosh Katha. After the puja, perform aarti and distribute prasad. On this day, it is advised to give up ego and worship with true devotion.
