New Delhi. An important information to the 8th Central Pay Commission has come to light for central government employees and pensioners. The Commission has released a new schedule of consultation meetings to be held with employee organizations and unions. Through these meetings, employee organizations will be able to put forward their demands and suggestions directly before the Commission, which will help in finalizing future recommendations.

Important meeting will be held on 7th and 10th August

As per the schedule of the Commission, meetings will be held with employee organizations, unions and other concerned parties on August 7 and August 10 in New Delhi. In these meetings, detailed discussions will be held on pay and service issues from various organizations. The objective of the meeting is to hear the suggestions of different employee organizations and consider incorporating them in the recommendations of the Commission.

Application has to be made by 31st July

Employee organizations who wish to participate in these meetings must request an appointment from the Commission by July 31. The Commission has clarified that only those organizations will be able to attend the meeting, which have already submitted their memorandum to the Commission. The Commission will take the final decision on whether applications received after the prescribed deadline will be considered or not. Therefore, eligible organizations have been advised to complete the applications well in time.

These important issues will be discussed

Many important issues to employees and pensioners are likely to be discussed in the upcoming meetings. These majorly include: possible changes in pay structure, suggestions on fitment factor, issues to Dearness Allowance (DA), amendments in various allowances, reforms in pension system, proposals to service conditions and facilities. After studying the suggestions received on these subjects, the Commission will prepare its detailed recommendations, which will be further presented to the Central Government.

There will be dialogue in other states also

The Commission has also clarified that the meetings to be held in New Delhi are the first phase of the consultation process. After this, meetings will also be organized with employee organizations in various states and union territories of the country. Its objective is to obtain the opinions of as many stakeholders as possible and to incorporate the suggestions from all sections in the final report.
