High alert after smoke found in cargo hold

As soon as information about the emergency landing was received, Rajkot Airport Authority immediately declared high alert. Along with this, the local administration also became active. All emergency safety protocols were implemented on the runway. Several fire engines and water tankers of Rajkot Fire Department were deployed on the runway so that any situation could be dealt with immediately.

All 194 passengers safe

Rajkot Airport Director Digant Bora said that IndiGo flight IGO1452 going from Dubai to Mumbai had to make an emergency landing at Rajkot Airport after smoke was detected in the cargo hold area. He said the plane landed safely and all 194 passengers on board were safe. According to airport sources, it was an Airbus A321 aircraft and smoke was seen in the cargo hold area. As a precautionary measure, complete emergency was declared at Rajkot International Airport. A special team including senior police officers reached the airport to ensure the safety of passengers and maintain law and order. Apart from this, ambulance and medical team were also kept fully prepared.

China Southern Airlines flight diverted to Lucknow

Meanwhile, a China Southern Airlines flight also had to change its route due to bad weather. Due to bad weather in Kathmandu, flight CZ3067 (Airbus A320neo) was diverted to Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. According to Lucknow Airport sources, this plane was flying from Guangzhou, China to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Due to bad weather it was not possible to land in Kathmandu on time. The plane landed safely at Lucknow airport at 11:18 pm on Sunday night. There were 159 passengers on board this plane.
