Ingredients to make Cheese Burst Vada

for stuffing

  • 3–4 boiled potatoes
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 8–10 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • finely chopped coriander
  • Cheese Cube or Cheese Sauce

for batter

  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1 tsp celery
  • salt as per taste
  • water as per need
  • oil for frying

Prepare potato stuffing like this

First of all, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves and temper it. Now add ginger-garlic paste and green chilli and fry for a few seconds. After this add turmeric and mashed boiled potatoes and mix well. Prepare the mixture by adding salt, lemon juice and green coriander and keep it to cool.

How to make batter?

Add gram flour, celery and salt in a vessel. Now prepare a thick and smooth batter by adding water little by little. Keep the batter covered for 10 minutes, so that it sets well.

How to make Cheese Burst Vada

Make small balls of the cooled potato stuffing. Fill a cheese cube or a little cheese sauce in the center of each ball and close it tightly and give it a round shape. Now dip them in gram flour solution and fry them in hot oil on medium flame till they become golden and crisp.

serving method

Serve hot Cheese Burst Vada with green chutney, sweet tamarind chutney or tomato sauce. If you want, you can also serve it by placing it in between the pav like vada pav. This snack will double the taste during evening tea or rainy season.

  • Using cheese cubes will give a nice cheese burst inside.
  • Always fry the vada on medium flame, so that it becomes crispy from outside and cooked well from inside.
  • Do not keep the batter too thin, otherwise the coating will not be correct.
  • If you like spicy taste then you can also add red chilli flakes or black pepper to the stuffing.
