The Thai passport ranked 63rd in the latest Henley Passport Index, dropping two notches from last year but remained the fifth most powerful in ASEAN region.
According to the index, Thailand, Southeast Asia’s fourth-richest country by GDP per capita, shared the place with Bolivia and Kazakhstan, with passport holders of these countries enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 77 destinations.
The Thai document was placed fifth among passport holders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations members.

Singapore topped the global ranking with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 destinations.
Malaysia ranked second, followed by Brunei and Timor-Leste.
Indonesian passports stayed at 68th, followed by the Philippines 72nd, Vietnam 87th, Cambodia 88th, Laos 89th and Myanmar 91st.
The Henley Passport Index tracks global travel freedom across 227 countries and territories, using exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
It ranks 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can enter without obtaining a visa in advance. Updated regularly throughout the year to reflect changes in visa policies, the index is widely regarded as a key measure of global mobility.
