India once again proved its strong claim in boxing by performing brilliantly on the seventh day of the Commonwealth Games 2026. Indian boxers ensured five medals in a single day, ensuring India's total of nine boxing medals in Glasgow. With this, India equaled its record of winning the most boxing medals in a single edition set in Gold Coast 2018.
The biggest achievement of the day was that of Indian boxers. Sakshi Choudhary (51 kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70 kg), Sachin Siwach (60 kg), Ankush Yadav (80 kg) and Narendra Berwal (90 kg) have ensured at least a bronze medal by winning their respective matches. With this, a total of nine medals have now been decided in India's name in boxing.

In athletics, long jump star Murali Sreeshankar qualified for the finals in the very first attempt. Shotput players Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Samardeep Singh Gill have also reached the finals. In para swimming, Chaitanya Vishwas Kulkarni and Suyyash Narayan Jadhav made it to the men's 50m freestyle S7 final, further strengthening India's medal hopes.

In the remaining matches of the day, Jasmine Lamboria, Parul Choudhary, Aryan Nehra, Devendra Kumar, Sagar Thayat and other Indian players will challenge for medals. Sports lovers will especially keep an eye on the final matches of boxing, athletics and para athletics.
