The political dispute has deepened further after the debate on Anti Paper Leak Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has alleged that he was not given a chance to present his views fully in Parliament. He claimed that he requested the Lok Sabha Speaker several times and also requested senior leaders of the ruling party, but still he was not allowed to speak. Rahul Gandhi has held Home Minister Amit Shah responsible for the alleged police action against students and has demanded an investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

Rahul Gandhi made serious allegations regarding action against students

Speaking to the media outside the Parliament complex, Rahul Gandhi said that the students protesting in Delhi were allegedly brutalized. He claimed that pellet guns were used on students and one student was in danger of serious eye damage. Rahul Gandhi said that he has seen the medical document of the student concerned, which claimed to mention injury from pellet gun.

He also alleged that during the protest, not only normal sticks but also shock batons and sticks with nails were used. Rahul Gandhi said that as the leader of the opposition, it is his right to raise such public interest issues in Parliament.

'Will not apologize, Amit Shah should be removed'

Rahul Gandhi claimed that he was hinted that he would be allowed to speak in the House if he apologized. However, he clearly said that he will not apologize to BJP or RSS.

He reiterated the demand for removal of Home Minister Amit Shah from the post and investigation of the entire matter under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Rahul Gandhi also claimed that he had seen Home Minister Amit Shah talking to police officials during the Parliament proceedings and said that the Home Ministry was fully aware of the incident.

The government has already denied the allegations

Earlier, on behalf of the government, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and BJP leaders had termed Rahul Gandhi's allegations as baseless. The government says that no shots were fired during the demonstration and the police only took necessary steps to maintain law and order.

At present, the ruling party and the opposition are face to face regarding the students' demonstration and this heated political debate in the Parliament. Both sides are making their own claims regarding the matter, while political rhetoric regarding the incident is continuously increasing.
