There is good news for young people aspiring to build a career in research with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). DRDO has announced walk-in interviews for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellows (JRF). **Number of Vacancies**
DRDO’s Scientific Analysis Group (SAG) lab has announced recruitment for a total of 11 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions. These include 3 posts for Mathematics, 4 for Computer Science/IT, 3 for Electronics/Electronics & Communication, and 1 for Physics. Walk-in interviews for all disciplines will be held on August 5, 2026.
**Educational Qualifications**
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualifications with a first-class record in the relevant subject. For Mathematics and Physics candidates, a postgraduate degree along with NET qualification is mandatory. Candidates in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, and ECE must hold a BE/B.Tech degree (first class) and possess a valid NET or GATE score. Candidates holding an ME or M.Tech degree in the relevant subject are also eligible to apply. The maximum age limit is set at 28 years as of the interview date. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
**Stipend of ₹37,000**
Selected candidates will have the opportunity to conduct research work for a period of two years. During this time, a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 will be provided. Additionally, House Rent Allowance (HRA), medical facilities, and other government benefits will be provided in accordance with the rules.
Candidates must first download the application form and fill in all the necessary details. They are required to report to the interview venue with the filled-out application form, their bio-data, and original documents. Interested candidates may also send their documents via email in advance. For the interview, candidates must report between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on August 5 at the Main Gate Reception, Metcalf House, Delhi-110054. The application process is entirely free of cost.
