Amid a hectic shooting schedule in Hyderabad for SS Rajamouli 's action-adventure ‘Varanasi’, Priyanka Chopra is making time for both work and family. She's joined on the trip by husband Nick Jonas and their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. In a break from filming, the couple recently enjoyed a movie night out with her co-star, Mahesh Babu .

The picture shows Priyanka, Nick and Mahesh Babu together in Hyderabad, the multiplex chain that the Telugu star co-owns. The actress opted for a simple yet stylish look, wearing a sleeveless ivory V-neck top with textured detailing. She completed the outfit with oversized tinted sunglasses, letting her shoulder-length hair fall in soft waves. Nick went for an all-white look, layering a textured shirt over a white vest, while Mahesh kept things low-key in an oversized black T-shirt, matching cap and trousers.
Priyanka opens up on Nick Jonas' podcast about landing the role
During an appearance on the Jonas Brothers ' podcast, Priyanka shared that she's been part of ‘Varanasi’ for close to 14 months now. She recalled how the project came her way, revealing that filmmaker SS Rajamouli reached out to her directly to offer her the role. As she put it, "He called me for this movie and it's this epic adventure around the world and in time. It has taken a minute but I am so excited about it."
She also gave a hint about her role, mentioning that fans can expect to see her in a number of slow-motion action sequences. In her words, "I do so many amazing slow-motion jumps in it and that's all I can say about it."
What 'Varanasi' is about?
‘Varanasi’ is set in the aftermath of an asteroid, Shambhavi, crashing into Earth, leaving behind a world ravaged by environmental and ecological disaster. At the heart of the story is Rudhra, a devoted follower of Shiva and a divine warrior, who journeys across different continents and time periods in pursuit of a lost cosmic artefact. During his quest, he stumbles upon a conspiracy orchestrated by Kumbha, a powerful and ruthless figure bent on world domination. Priyanka's character, Mandakini, reportedly plays a key role in guiding Rudhra through mythological timelines and helping him piece together secrets from the past.
