Real Madrid have no plans to raise the renewal offer already placed before Vinicius Junior, according to ESPN Brasil.

The Brazil international is due to return to Real Madrid training on 3 August, with his long-term future at the club still undecided.

Even though both the player and the club have publicly made it clear that they want to continue together, talks over a new contract remain stalled, which has kept Arsenal hopeful that a blockbuster transfer may still be possible.

Vinicius’ current contract runs until June 2027, and with no fresh agreement yet finalised, uncertainty continues to hang over one of Madrid’s biggest stars.

People at the club believe they have already made their stance clear and will not improve the proposal that has been sent to the 26-year-old winger.

As a result, they are now waiting for Vinicius and his representatives to decide whether they are willing to accept the terms on the table.

For now, despite reports suggesting otherwise, no further meetings between the two sides have been arranged.

Although Arsenal have still not made direct contact with either Vinicius or his representatives, sources close to the Premier League champions feel there remains an opening.

The North London side are monitoring how discussions between the player and Real Madrid progress before deciding whether to make an official move.

If Vinicius continues to delay signing a new contract, Arsenal are ready to step in.

The Gunners want to show their strength in the transfer market and believe that bringing in the Real Madrid star would rank among the biggest deals in world football, while also sending a strong message about their ambitions.

However, any possible move depends completely on how matters develop between the Brazilian and Real Madrid.

At the same time, Los Blancos are fully aware of the timeline. If Vinicius does not sign a new contract, he will move into the final six months of his deal in January 2027, which would allow him to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside Spain and potentially leave on a free transfer that summer.

Because of that, Real Madrid understand that selling the winger before reaching that point would become the most sensible sporting and financial option if contract talks eventually break down.

For his part, the Brazil international has consistently said that he wants to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"It is always very exciting to open talks with Real Madrid over renewing my contract," he said back in February.

"I have a contract until 2027, but I have always said that I want to stay here for a long time, make history and continue receiving the affection of the fans, the president and the coaching staff."

Several months on, though, that agreement is still not in place, leaving Arsenal watching the situation closely and Real Madrid still searching for a solution in one of football’s biggest unresolved contract sagas.
