According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall intensity will decrease slightly over south peninsular India in the coming days, but isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over coastal and south interior Karnataka over the next two days. Meanwhile, rainfall activity will increase over northeastern India, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at many locations over the next five days. Rainfall is also expected to increase over the foothills of the central and eastern Himalayas over the next four to five days.

The IMD has predicted heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning on various days
between August 3 and 8 in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and several northeastern states. Strong winds with speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour are possible during this period.

Delhi NCR
Weather (August 3-5): According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, the capital Delhi will remain cloudy until August 5. Light to very light rain may occur at some locations between morning and afternoon. Clouds will also remain in the capital on August 4 and 5. During this time, light rain may occur at some locations and winds may blow at speeds of around 12 to 30 kilometers per hour.

Uttar Pradesh
Weather (August 3 to 8): The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, Meerut, Baghpat, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Badaun, Bareilly, Moradabad, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and others, from August 3 to 6. According to the IMD, isolated heavy rain is likely in eastern Uttar Pradesh from August 3 to 6, and in western Uttar Pradesh from August 3 to 6. Normal to moderate rainfall is also expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh from August 6 to 8.

Bihar
Weather (August 3-August 8): The Bihar Meteorological Department has predicted rain and thunderstorms in most parts of the state from August 3 to August 8. Strong winds may also blow during this period. The IMD has predicted heavy rain in Gopalganj, Siwan, Kishanganj, Supaul, West Champaran on August 3. During this period, strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour may blow in North-Central, North-East and South-East Bihar, as well as East and West Champaran and Saran. Heavy rain is likely in Aurangabad, Bhabua, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gaya, Rohtas, Banka, Bhagalpur, Jamui and Nawada on August 4 and 5. According to the Meteorological Department, this rain will continue till August 8.

Himachal Pradesh
Weather Update (August 3-August 8): The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in almost all districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, Mandi, and Shimla, from August 3 to 8. There is also a warning of thunderstorms during this period. Winds can also blow at speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.

Uttarakhand
Weather Update (August 3 – August 8): The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall throughout the week in several districts of Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Pithoragarh, and Haldwani. Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is also possible from August 3 to 8, with lightning possible in some areas.

Maharashtra
Weather Update (August 3-August 4): Orange and Yellow alerts have been issued for thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain in several districts of Maharashtra for the next five days. The IMD has issued a Yellow alert for Ratnagiri, Satara Ghat region, Buldhana, Akola, Amravati and Nagpur districts on August 3. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely in Buldhana, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts on August 4.
