Barcelona have made their position clear this weekend regarding the possible sale of Ferran Torres, with UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain continuing to press for the Spain international’s signature.

Ferran’s future has, of course, come under unexpected doubt over the last few weeks.

Previously viewed as more than settled in the Catalan capital, the 26-year-old is now believed to be seriously considering a fresh challenge away from Barcelona.

With strong interest building around a player who has only 12 months left on his current contract, PSG have been the club most closely associated with a move for Ferran.

However, only hours after reports emerged suggesting that the Camp Nou hierarchy were open to a possible sale, Deco and the rest of the Barcelona leadership are now said to have firmly ruled that out.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo:

“FC Barcelona’s stance in this case is very clear: Ferran Torres is not for sale, according to sources within the club. This is because they are counting on him.”

It is further added that the plan is to discuss the terms of a new contract with Ferran in September, once the transfer window has shut.
