If you have been waiting to withdraw PF funds via UPI and ATMs, this news is for you. For the past few months, there has been significant buzz that PF account holders would be able to withdraw their money directly from ATMs or via UPI starting August 1st. This news sparked curiosity among millions of employees—would withdrawing PF money really become that easy? Now, a major official update regarding this matter has been released by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

**When can PF money be withdrawn from ATMs?**
Central Provident Fund Commissioner Ramesh Krishnamurthy has clarified the situation regarding this new facility. He stated that the system for withdrawing PF money via ATMs is expected to be implemented within a month. This historic move by the EPFO will significantly reduce the difficulties PF account holders face when withdrawing funds, making the experience much faster and better than before.

**Will EPFO interest rates increase? ****
Recently, the EPFO credited interest at a rate of 8.25% to its account holders. By July 3rd, the interest amount had been deposited into the accounts of 34 crore members, and they have received SMS notifications confirming this. Given the prevailing inflation, there is a public demand for an increase in PF interest rates. Addressing this, the Commissioner stated that it is too early to comment on raising EPFO interest rates; currently, the interest rate remains at 8.25%.

**Delays caused by technical issues**
It is worth noting that the EPFO had previously announced on its official 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle that it was introducing a new system called CITES 2.01 (Centralised IT Enabled Services) to modernize its digital platform. The objective of this upgrade was to make PF-related services faster, easier, and fully digital. However, following the implementation of the new system, many members reported issues, such as:

*   Data from old EPF accounts not being visible.
*   Difficulty logging into the portal. * The website is running quite slowly.
* There are delays in processing PF claims.
EPFO had postponed the launch of the UPI-based claim facility to resolve these very technical issues.
