The event will take place at Sunset Town on Phu Quoc Island. According to the organizers, it is the only Ferragosto celebration of its kind in Vietnam. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to local schools to provide scholarships for disadvantaged students.

Ferragosto originated in ancient Rome with the Feriae Augusti, a festival marking the end of the harvest season. Today, it is widely celebrated in Italy as a summer holiday centered on family gatherings, food and leisure.
The Phu Quoc event will run from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and conclude with a fireworks display.
Justin Kim, general manager of La Festa Phu Quoc, said the event is intended to introduce visitors in Vietnam to aspects of Italian culture.
“We hope to create a day of cultural, culinary and recreational experiences that bring together couples, families and groups of friends while celebrating the spirit of the Italian summer,” he said.

The program includes workshops featuring both Vietnamese handicrafts and Italian-inspired activities.
Visitors can participate in charm making, swimwear decoration, pottery, seashell art, chocolate making and kombucha brewing, while local vendors will display handcrafted products throughout the day.
Entertainment activities include the Summer Water Run, a recreational run featuring water balloons and water guns, followed by a pool party with foam activities, music and refreshments.

Italian cuisine will also be featured during the event. A seafood buffet inspired by the traditional Pranzo di Ferragosto, or Grand Lunch, will be served.
The festival will also showcase several dining venues introduced during the resort’s expansion earlier this year, including Seta, a Cantonese restaurant; Finca, a Mediterranean-inspired Spanish bistro; Francesca, a rooftop bar; and Luna Folk, an American-Italian speakeasy and jazz bar. Together with its existing outlets, the resort now operates eight restaurants and bars.
According to the organizer, 250 tickets are available for this year’s celebration.
