New Delhi. West Delhi Lions produced a brilliant all-round performance to defeat South Delhi Superstarz by five wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 on Tuesday night. Their bowlers first restricted South Delhi to 160 runs in 19.5 overs, then achieved the target with five wickets remaining.
Batting first, South Delhi Superstarz lost wickets at regular intervals and failed to build a significant partnership. West Delhi’s bowlers bowled with accurate line and length throughout the match, preventing the batsmen from playing freely.
In the final stages of the innings, Vision Panchal played a crucial role in helping the team reach 160 with a quickfire 24 runs off 12 balls.
Mayank Gusain bowled brilliantly for West Delhi Lions, taking three wickets for just 13 runs in four overs. Kulwant Khejroliya took two wickets, while Nitish Rana also took one wicket.
Chasing a target of 161, West Delhi Lions had a poor start, losing two wickets for 26 runs in the powerplay. Nitish Rana and Krish Yadav then steadied the innings, adding 58 runs for the third wicket.
Rana played a composed innings of 32 runs off 25 balls. Despite losing a few wickets in the middle order, West Delhi maintained their grip on the match.
Ayush Doseja then played a crucial innings of 44 runs off 27 balls under pressure. He was well supported by Mayank Gusain, who completed his all-round performance with an unbeaten 19 runs off 10 balls, leading the team to a five-wicket victory.
