Fast bowlers Tayla Vlaeminck and Darcie Brown return in a strong 15-member Australia A squad that is set to tour India in September.
The tour will involve three T20s in New Chandigarh, three 50-over fixtures in Mohali and a four-day match in Dharamsala.
Vlaeminck, who has suffered routine interruptions to her international career due to injury, will hope to make the most of the opportunity to take on a solid Indian squad and will have Brown, who missed the cut for the recently concluded Women’s T20 World Cup which the Aussies won, in the white ball leg of the tour.
After a string of injuries triggered a national contract loss, this tour will be of particular significance for 27-year-old Vlaeminck.

The Victorian was condemned to a prolonged layoff after dislocating her bowling shoulder during the first game of the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup in UAE. She made a return to competitive cricket in April in a three-day Green-v-Gold red-ball match, restricted to bowling six overs in each innings.

She spent part of the winter thereafter training with Yorkshire in England and chipped in through a number of practice sessions for the senior women’s team during its victorious World Cup campaign.
Twenty-three-year-old Brown has lost her place in the national side to Queensland left-arm quick Lucy Hamilton.
Tahlia Wilson, who was Australia’s travelling reserve for that T20 World Cup campaign, will captain Australia A in the 50-over matches in Mohali. Victoria’s Nicole Faltum will captain in the T20 matches while Tasmania’s Rachel Trenaman will skipper in the four-day match.
The squad will be coached by Gavan Twining, stepping in from his role as an assistant with Australia’s senior side, with Mick Delaney and Cameron Boyce his assistants.
