Sky Germany reports that RB Leipzig and Real Madrid have finalised an agreement for the transfer of Yan Diomandé after several rounds of talks. The Spanish club will pay an initial €125m for the 19-year-old winger, with add-ons capable of taking the total package to €140m. Of that amount, €10m is regarded as relatively easy to achieve.

Diomandé is set to become Leipzig’s biggest sale on record. The Ivory Coast international could also become Real Madrid’s costliest signing ever, as well as the most expensive African footballer in history. The agreement brings to an end negotiations that had included Leipzig’s asking price and issues linked to the player’s representation.

Diomandé remains under contract until 2030 and there is no release clause in his deal, allowing the Bundesliga side to hold out for a historic transfer fee.

The teenager returned to training with Leipzig on Wednesday after missing the club’s training camp in Austria because of an infection. His absence had intensified speculation that he was trying to push through the move, although sporting director Marcel Schäfer insisted that Diomandé had in fact been genuinely unwell.

Leipzig paid around €20m to sign Diomandé from Leganés last summer. He then produced 12 goals and nine assists in 33 competitive matches, while his market value surged from €1.5m to €90m.

Leganés are due five percent of Leipzig’s transfer profit.
