Weather Update – Heavy Rain Alert for These States Over Next 4 Days, Check District-Wise Forecast

Weather Update: The monsoon’s impact is evident across several states. Regarding the weather in Uttar Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Lucknow Centre has issued a new forecast for August 7, following days of continuous rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, the spell of rain is expected to continue across most parts of the state. An alert has also been issued for heavy rainfall in several districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Furthermore, heavy rain alerts have been issued for various locations across East and Northeast India over the next five to six days. Torrential rain is predicted for Kerala and Karnataka over the next four days. Additionally, the department has issued alerts for thunderstorms and lightning in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and the Northeastern states. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and south interior Karnataka over the next 2-3 days. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue for most of the week in parts of Northwest and adjacent Central India, as well as at isolated places in East and Northeast India.

Heavy rain warning for Andaman & Nicobar Islands from August 6 to 8.
Rain alert for Bihar from August 6 to 8.
Heavy rain warning issued for Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from August 6 to 8.
Rain alert for Gangetic West Bengal for August 7 and 8.
Rain alert for Jharkhand from August 6 to 9.
Rain alert for Odisha for August 7-8 and 10-11.

Heavy Rainfall Forecast

According to the Meteorological Department, alerts for heavy rainfall have been issued for Himachal Pradesh (August 6–11), Uttarakhand (August 7–11), and the Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh region (August 8–11). Rain alerts have been issued for Chandigarh and Delhi on August 6; for western Rajasthan from August 7 to 9; and for eastern Rajasthan on August 6 and August 9–10.

Rain Warnings for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

An alert has been issued for rainfall at several locations in western Madhya Pradesh on August 10 and 11. Rainfall is expected to continue in Vidarbha from August 6 to 11. Alerts for isolated heavy rainfall have been issued for western Madhya Pradesh (August 7–9) and for eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (August 6–8). Very heavy rainfall is likely at some places in western Madhya Pradesh on August 7.

Heavy Rain Warnings for West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha

Rainfall alerts have been issued for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim from August 6 to 11. Rainfall is likely at several locations in Jharkhand (August 6–8 and 10–11) and Bihar (August 6–11).

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely in Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Amethi, and Sultanpur. Intense rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms may occur at several locations in these districts. The Meteorological Department states that conditions favourable for heavy rainfall could develop in some parts of these areas. According to the department, spells of heavy rain may be witnessed in isolated areas of Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, and Varanasi.
