Bhubaneswar: India on Thursday successfully test-fired Medium Range Ballistic Missile (MRBM), Agni-4, from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha’s Balasore district.

The test of the missile was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.

“Medium Range Ballistic Missile ‘Agni-4’ was successfully test-fired from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur in Odisha on August 6,” the Defence Ministry said.

“The launch validated all operational and technical parameters. The test was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command,” it said.

The Agni-4 is a two-stage solid-fuel ballistic missile with a strike range of around 4,000 kms. The missile has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in India.

It is the fourth one in the Agni series of missiles.
