RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat backed recent GenZ protests for education reforms, calling their concerns genuine and opposing the labelling of students as “anti-national.” Addressing over 2,000 youngsters in BKC, he stressed dialogue, accessible education, teacher training, social reservation, women’s empowerment and sustainable development, while also advocating civil dialogue with Pakistan and China.

Mumbai: The grievance of the recent GenZ protest was genuine and there is a lot of work to be done within India's education system, said Rashtriya Swayamsevmak Sangh's chief, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing young GenZ and Gen Alpha generation. He also supported the idea of protesting for one's demands and said that the students should not be called anti-nationals for it.

The sarsanghchalak of the right wing Hindu nationalist organisation, after less than two weeks of the nationwide student movement in Delhi, addressed a full house of over 2,000 people - largely school students from across the country. Speaking at the 15th annual championship conference of India's International Mission to Unite Nations (IIMUN) at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in BKC, Bhagwat  spoke on a wide range of youth-favourite issues like education, uneployment, women empowerment, same-sex marriage as well as India's ties with Pakistan and China. 

Sharing his perspective about the recent GenZ protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar demanding education minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and educational reforms, he backed the youngsters and said that GenZ expressed a genuine concern because and even though there is a need for change in India's educational system, nothing is changing. "In democracy, protest is the way to create consensus through dialogue.When discussion does not happen, we can choose to agitate but the only goal should be to evolve consensus, not to create division," he said.

He opposed against the usage of the term "anti-national" for the protesters, saying that today's generation needs logical answers and some love and their problems can be solved by holding a dialogue with them. "These students are not anti-national. They are our own children and we should hold a dialogue with them. The GenZ and Gen Alpha is more honest than our generation," he said, adding that if he had to blindly trust between counter-narratives, he will side with the GenZ.
