The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for August 7, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across several parts of northern and eastern India. Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar are among the regions expected to experience adverse weather conditions as an active monsoon system continues to influence the area.

According to the IMD, Delhi-NCR may witness thunderstorms accompanied by wind speeds of up to 50 km/h, along with spells of moderate to heavy rain. An orange alert has been issued for parts of Delhi due to the possibility of waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and reduced visibility during intense showers.

The weather department has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where localized flooding and disruptions to transport are possible. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall and to remain indoors during thunderstorms whenever possible.

Beyond Delhi, UP, and Bihar, heavy rain alerts have also been issued for several other states, including Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and parts of central and northeastern India, as the monsoon remains active across the country.

Authorities have urged people to monitor official weather updates, stay away from waterlogged areas, and exercise caution due to the risk of strong winds, lightning, and localized flooding.
