The stand between Pooran and Curran put on 93 from 40 balls in total, reducing the equation from 92 required from 55 balls to a formality.

Matthew Potts returned for a final five-over allocation but could not stem the tide. Sam Curran launched a Potts full toss over wide long on for six when MI London needed 11 from 20. Pooran ended matters in the same over, launching beyond mid off to complete an emphatic seven-wicket win. The margin — 16 balls remaining — underlined the dominance of the fourth-wicket partnership once it took hold.

For Sunrisers, the collapse of the chase after such a promising start with the ball, two wickets from Carse inside the first ten balls, represented a painful reversal.
