In 2022, upon the birth of his second child, he informed the company of his intention to take six months of paternity leave; he was told that taking this leave could put his job at risk.

Reeves' paternity leave ended on June 1, 2022, but when he attempted to return to work, he was informed that he had lost his job. He was formally dismissed shortly thereafter, on September 4, 2022.
