Liverpool are preparing to table an offer to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to a report from L’Equipe, the Merseyside club are set to make a bid worth €115 million to Paris Saint-Germain, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to complete the transfer.

The same report adds that Paris Saint-Germain are expected to reject the proposal. The French champions are likely to ask for more than €150 million before allowing the 23-year-old to leave. The player wants a move in this transfer window, and he has made joining Liverpool his main priority.

That update will come as a major lift for the English side, although the valuation could make negotiations difficult. While he is clearly a talented footballer, €150 million is a huge fee for a player who is not an automatic starter for Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old will want his future resolved soon so that he can concentrate fully on his game. He needs regular football every week if he is to keep developing and realise his full potential.

Barcola is capable of playing on either wing, and he would bring both goals and creativity to the squad. He delivered 20 goal contributions for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions last season, and he could strengthen Liverpool in attacking areas. The Premier League club need extra creativity and more goals in the side, especially following the exit of Mohamed Salah.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can persuade Paris Saint-Germain to accept a more reasonable fee. It seems very unlikely that any club would be willing to pay €150 million for the France international.

If Liverpool are unable to convince the French club over the next few days, they may turn their attention to other targets. They have already signed Victor Munoz this summer, and they have also been linked with Ibrahim Mbaye.
