Moreover, AI is now capable of performing tasks even better than humans. In this context, AI companies are also working fast to establish a direct connection between the human brain and machines. Notably, one AI startup is attempting to create a system that can interpret the human brain and convert its activity into text.

According to media reports, the company is called Conduit, and it aims to develop telepathy technology reminiscent of science-fiction films. A key aspect of this initiative is the company's need for human brain data; consequently, it is offering payment to individuals in exchange for their brain data.
Interacting with AI
According to available information, participants in this research won't just be sitting silently; they are required to interact with the AI system. Some sessions involve listening to and speaking with the AI, while other activities include reading and typing.
The company's objective is to gather as much neural data as possible through these sessions. To achieve this, participants are asked to speak or type as much as they can within a two-hour window. However, there is a specific condition: participants must be able to type on a keyboard without looking at their fingers. This helps in better understanding the relationship between typing and brain activity during the research.
A Special Helmet Will Be Used
Reports indicate that Conduit is working on an AI model that requires neural data from the human brain for training purposes. That is why the company is selecting individuals willing to provide data and records from their brains for research purposes.
Participants in this research will be required to wear a specialized helmet for approximately two hours. This helmet is equipped with electrodes that record brain activity. According to reports, the entire setup weighs around four pounds—approximately 1.8 kilograms.
In exchange for these two hours, the company is paying participants up to $55 (approximately ₹5,200). The company states that an individual can participate in a maximum of 32 sessions.
This is not the first time such research has been conducted.
The dream of understanding the human brain through machines is not new; nearly a century ago, some individuals claimed to have developed such technology. In 1908, Columbia University professor Frederick Peterson described a device he called a "psychometer," claiming it could read the thoughts occurring within the human brain.
Although claims regarding such technology could not be scientifically substantiated at the time, the situation today is vastly different. With the aid of advanced neuroscience, machine learning, and pattern recognition, scientists have made significant strides in interpreting signals from the brain compared to the past.
