A beta version is released for testing purposes before the final public launch; once any identified glitches are resolved, it will transition from beta to the public version, allowing you to book tickets through the new site.

The new website features a more modern interface, easier navigation, and enhanced security compared to the previous version. However, if you are using this new portal for the first time, you must complete a mandatory process before booking tickets; failure to do so will prevent you from booking train tickets. Additionally, the new site facilitates easier booking of Tatkal tickets.

**Mobile and Email Verification Required Upon First Login**
After logging into the new IRCTC website for the first time, users must verify their registered mobile number and email ID.
The website initiates this process immediately upon login. Separate OTPs will be sent to the mobile number and email ID, and the account will be verified only after entering both OTPs. Users cannot book any train tickets until this one-time verification is completed.

**No Repeated Verification Needed After Initial Setup**
Once mobile and email verification is complete, you will not need to repeat the process during future logins. IRCTC states that this enhances account security and reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

**Easier Tatkal Ticket Booking**
IRCTC claims that the new website simplifies the process of booking Tatkal tickets. Booking capacity has been increased, making it easier to book Tatkal tickets compared to the previous system. **How ​​to Perform Aadhaar Authentication**
Checking the Aadhaar authentication status has also been made easier on the new website. If your Aadhaar is already linked, its status will be displayed; if not, you can complete the authentication process by entering the required details. According to IRCTC, Aadhaar authentication is mandatory for booking Tatkal tickets.

**Several Changes in the New Website**

You will notice a cleaner and more modern interface compared to the previous one. However, some users have complained that they preferred the earlier interface. Additionally, the one-time OTP verification process for mobile numbers and email addresses has been simplified. Tasks such as ticket booking, checking PNR status, ticket cancellation, and searching for trains have become easier than before.

Furthermore, the 'My Profile' section offers a direct option for Aadhaar authentication, providing additional security features based on OTP and Aadhaar. Currently, the beta version of the website has been launched. The company states that more features will be added and the site will be further improved in the near future.
