Lille OSC and Manchester City are understood to be working through the final details of an agreement for the transfer of Ayyoub Bouaddi, 18, according to information reported by journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The move, which has been under discussion for several weeks, is now said to be viewed as “imminent” by the parties involved. Lille, unwilling to let their midfielder leave for a cut-price fee, are expected to receive €100m from the deal.

This latest development is in clear contrast to recent comments from LOSC president Olivier Létang, who had told the media that he “still believed Bouaddi would stay” with Les Dogues for the 2026-27 season. However, an offer reaching three figures could force the 53-year-old to rethink that position, while the Moroccan midfielder is also reported to have already agreed personal terms with the Sky Blues over a possible contract.

Bouaddi, who is under contract with LOSC until 2029 and is widely seen as one of the most promising players in the world in his role, could therefore leave the club where he rose through the youth ranks earlier than many had anticipated.
