Barcelona remain confident of completing the signing of Rodri even though Manchester City have rejected their first two bids for the Spanish midfielder.

As per the latest update, Manchester City have made it clear that an offer of only €60 million will not be enough to prise Rodri away.

However, Barcelona feel that a package worth €60 million in guaranteed payment plus €10 million in add-ons could eventually persuade the Premier League club.

The two clubs are still some way apart in negotiations, but there is increasing belief that a middle ground can be found.

Barcelona are now preparing what could be their third and final offer, with Rodri’s move to Spotify Camp Nou still very much on the table.

Barcelona are confident about signing Rodri.

Their first proposal was valued between €45 million and €50 million, but Manchester City swiftly turned it down as it was below their asking price.

Barcelona then came back with an improved package of around €60 million. That second bid also failed, with City making it clear that they want a higher total fee before they consider letting the midfielder leave.

Now, the latest information suggests that Manchester City are looking for a deal worth around €70 million.

That does not automatically mean Barcelona have to pay the full amount upfront.

Barcelona are set to make their third and final offer for Rodri.

Instead, a structure involving €60 million in fixed fees and €10 million in performance-based add-ons could be enough to close the gap between the two sides.

Barcelona’s strategy appears to be focused on matching City’s valuation without raising the guaranteed part of the transfer fee beyond €60 million.

Both clubs remain optimistic that an agreement can ultimately be reached, with Barcelona now working on a third proposal that could be their final attempt.
