Marcus Rashford’s list of possible destinations away from Manchester United is continuing to narrow after the latest call taken by INEOS.

The Manchester-born forward returned to his boyhood club after an absence of almost two years, with Michael Carrick offering an olive branch to his former teammate.

Even so, both the Red Devils and the attacker are still eager to go their separate ways, with the England international believing too much bad blood has built up between him and the club.

As reported earlier, Marcus Rashford is set to hold talks with his head coach over reaching an amicable separation once their commitments in Dublin are completed.

Aston Villa, who have previously signed the England international on loan, are once again open to that possibility, with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea also among the interested clubs.

However, INEOS will not sanction a move for the versatile forward to a direct Premier League rival, even on a temporary deal. That group also includes fierce rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

The Mirror reported: “Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains keen to get Rashford off the club’s wage bill. But he is not willing to sell the England forward to main rivals Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City.

“While loan deals with the likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham have been ruled out.

“Because if Rashford was to help any of these clubs finish in the Champions League places this coming season, it would prove embarrassing to United bosses.”

There is interest from Turkiye, but the 28-year-old does not want to make that move at this point in his career.

Barcelona had earlier decided against activating his buy option despite his impressive displays during his loan spell in the 2025/26 season.

Bayern Munich are another club keeping a close eye on the situation, but they are unable to move forward because of the wage demands of Manchester United’s No.14.

It is understandable that INEOS would not want to strengthen a direct Premier League rival. The source is not especially credible when it comes to Manchester United. We believe a move within the Premier League is virtually ruled out, but INEOS will still look to part ways with Rashford because of his huge wages.
