New Delhi, August 17: Indian shuttler Ayush Shetty pulled off a stunning upset at the BWF 2026 World Championships after defeating world No. 1 and defending champion Shi Yu Qi in a thrilling first-round match at the Indira Gandhi International Stadium in New Delhi.

The 21-year-old Indian won the three-game battle 21-14, 13-21, 21-19 in front of a loud home crowd.
