Marks and Spencer has urged customers to stop using one of its products “immediately”. The high street store has issued a product recall notice and warned customers of an injury risk.
Its Marks and Spencer Hand Painted Jug has been recalled from customers and taken off shelves. The jug poses a risk of injury as the glass may break during use. It is described as a blue-tinted jug with painted leaf decorations, made in China.
Marks and Spencer’s jug has the model number T34/9829D. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued a recall alert.
It said: “The product presents a risk of injuries as the glass may break during use, leading to injuries. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.”
The OPSS added: “The product has been withdrawn from the market and recalled from end users by Marks & Spencer. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and return it to any Marks & Spencer’s store for a full refund.
“For more information, please access the M&S website or contact 0333 014 8434.” The £18 jug has been on sale in the UK and Ireland since February 28, 2026.
Marks and Spencer said: “We have identified a potential safety issue with this product as there is a risk of glass breakage resulting in injury.
“We recommend that you stop using this product immediately. The product is no longer available for sale. Please return this product to any M&S store (excl. Outlets or Franchise stores) for a full refund. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
Asda has also issued a recall notice to its customers as a children’s toy presents a choking hazard. The Hapello Power Train has been recalled because it contains “easily-detachable small parts” that could be a danger to young children.
Anyone with the toy has been urged to return it to the supermarket for a full refund. Asda added: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact: Asda Customer Relations – 0330 053 0111.”
The toy was sold between August 2024 and February 2026 and is described as a “multicoloured battery power train toy” with barcode number 5063089308547.
