Napoli are not looking only at Gabriel Jesus as a possible attacking option if they decide to move on from Lorenzo Lucca, with Joshua Zirkzee and Nicolas Jackson also on their radar, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Both forwards are expected to leave Manchester United and Chelsea this summer. The Dutch striker has once again been linked with a return to Serie A, with Juventus especially mentioned. However, the Bianconeri would first need to sell Jonathan David. Meanwhile, discussions with Aston Villa and a couple of Ligue 1 clubs have not moved forward significantly.
Napoli have made enquiries for both Zirkzee and Jackson in the last few days, while preparing for possible departures in their own squad. Atalanta have asked for Noa Lang on loan. Galatasaray and Ajax are also trying to sign him, but the Partenopei could decide to keep him unless a club comes in with an offer of around €25M, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.
As for the Italian striker, Fiorentina would probably make a move for him if they were to sell Moise Kean to Como. He is also on Lazio’s shortlist, according to Il Mattino.
The Azzurri have offered a €4M loan deal with an option or a conditional obligation to buy for Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal and the player are waiting for stronger proposals. As for the 25-year-old Chelsea outcast, he spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, where he registered 11 goals and 4 assists in 34 appearances.
Clearly, Napoli would not want to be left with only Rasmus Hojlund if they manage to find a buyer for Lucca, but the final choice is likely to depend more on the numbers and the structure of the deal than on the playing profile of the incoming striker. Given how much they invested in the Italian, it is difficult to work out the right agreement without accepting a major loss. Keeping him as a backup option is therefore not such an unrealistic scenario.
