Jharkhand High Court has stayed the state government’s decision to cancel JSSC-CGL and CDPO recruitment exams. The court sought responses from the government and JPSC by September 7 after selected candidates challenged the move, saying many had already received appointments.

Ranchi: Jharkhand High Court on Friday stayed the state government’s decision to cancel the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission-Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL) examination and the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) recruitment examination.

Court stays exam cancellation

The demand for the cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination, alongside the insistence on a CBI probe, was the primary contention between the Chief Minister Hemant Soren-led Mahagathbandhan government and student protesters. They suspended their 25-day-long stir on Wednesday only after Soren announced the cancellation of the JSSC-CGL and other multiple exams.

Hearing petitions challenging the government’s decision, the High Court directed the state government and the JPSC to file detailed responses by September 7. Justice Deepak Roshan heard the matter as he had also heard the petitions challenging the government’s cancellation of the 11th to 13th JPSC examinations and FSO recruitment on Thursday.
