BMC will host a Rakhi exhibition-sale on August 24-25, featuring eco-friendly rakhis, handicrafts and other products made by women’s SHGs and Divyang students. The initiative aims to promote their skills, creativity and financial independence.
Mumbai, Maharashtra: This Raksha Bandhan, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will host a special exhibition and sale featuring rakhis made by women’s self-help groups (SHGs) and Divyang students from BMC special schools.
The initiative has been organised on the initiative of Minal Turde, Chairperson of the BMC Women and Child Welfare Committee, with the aim of encouraging women’s self-help groups and providing a market for their products. The initiative is being implemented through the BMC Planning Department.
A special exhibition and sale will be held at the BMC Headquarters on August 24, 2026, from 10 am to 6 pm. Similar exhibitions will also be organised at all BMC administrative department and ward offices on August 24 and 25, from 10 am to 6 pm.
Citizens visiting the exhibitions will be able to purchase a range of products prepared by women’s self-help groups, including attractive eco-friendly rakhis, homemade food items, decorative products and handicrafts.
