At the same time, some youth are moving forward with the dream of building their own satellite for the country. One such story has come to light of Omkar Singh Batra, a resident of Jammu. His success has inspired many youth. Omkar Singh Batra surprised everyone by designing a website at the age of 7. After this, he made a satellite at the age of 16 and by the time he was 19, he reached Silicon Valley and raised $4.3 million for a space-tech startup.

Let us tell you that this startup of Omkar Singh Batra was trying to solve an old problem of satellite communication. Keeping the satellite connected when it goes out of line of sight of the ground station. Today at the age of 20, he is developing a continuous communication layer for satellites in space.

Batra created his first website at the age of only seven. Along with this, he also wrote a book at the age of 12. Started his own company at the age of 13 and when he turned 16, he created InQube, which is said to be India's first open-source satellite.

Which book was written?
At the age of 12, Omkar Singh Batra wrote a 49-page book named When the Time Stops. According to his LinkedIn profile, in this composition he challenged Albert Einstein's theory of time dilation. He was later recognized as the world's youngest theoretical writer. After this, technology was no longer just a hobby for him, but he started making it a part of his work. In 2018, he started Batra Technologies and then founded United India Publishing in 2019.
Know how was the journey in the space sector?
While studying in school in Jammu, Omkar Singh Batra started working on a small satellite system Incub under the Paradox Sonic Space Research Agency. It was described as India's first open-source satellite. It was based on a 1U CubeSat platform weighing about one kilogram. Its purpose was to check whether the small satellite could work in space or not and to collect temperature data from space.
But while working on Incube, Batra discovered a big problem. A satellite revolving in low Earth orbit cannot remain in contact with the ground station all the time; when it goes out of reach of the ground station, its communication stops for some time. Interestingly, even before completing his schooling in 2023, Batra started teaching engineering students. His school life was quite different from that of ordinary students. Along with working on space projects, he was also associated with IIT Jammu. According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked as a guest project facilitator and coordinator in the Satellite Development Program of IIT Jammu.
He learned a lot at a young age
By winning the National Bal Shakti Award in the year 2020, he had brought glory to his family, city and state and now he is going to create history with a new invention. Omkar Singh's father Balwinder Singh is proud of his son. At a young age he learned a lot and kept doing new experiments.
Omkar has created the country's first open-source nanosatellite. Omkar Singh's mother Paramjit Kaur used to say that Omkar used to do something or the other day and night. Many times he stays awake all night. Even when there were 10th class board exams, he was busy in his experiments while preparing for the exams. Many times there was a fear that his studies might get affected but Omkar continued his research along with his studies and today he is at a point where we are proud of him.
