Tezzbuzz Desk- If your Android phone's battery goes down within a few hours, it is not always due to battery damage. Many times the screen, notifications and apps running in the background consume more power. You can improve battery backup by changing some simple settings.
Nowadays smartphones are used for everything from calling to social media, videos, online payments and work. In such a situation, draining the phone's battery quickly can be quite troublesome. But if your phone is in fine condition, battery consumption can be reduced by changing some settings.
Notification from every app is not necessary. Repetitive alerts cause the screen to turn on, sound or vibration to occur, and drain the battery. Therefore, go to Settings and turn off notifications of such apps whose alerts are not necessary for you.
Many apps continue to work in the background even after the screen is turned off. This may consume both battery and mobile data. The background activity of apps that you use less can be limited. However, setting background restrictions on messaging, email or essential service apps may delay their notifications.
The screen of a smartphone is one of the major battery consuming parts. Instead of keeping the brightness higher than required, use Adaptive Brightness or keep the brightness as low as per your need. If the phone has Always-on Display and you don't need it, turning it off can also help save battery.
If the screen remains on for several minutes after using the phone, unnecessary battery is wasted. Go to Settings and set the Screen Timeout to a shorter time. Due to this, the display will turn off quickly when the phone is not in use.
When the battery is draining fast or the phone has to be on for a long time, use Battery Saver. This can help increase battery backup by limiting certain background activities and other power-consuming features.
The vibration and sound of the keyboard during typing takes some extra power with continuous use. If you don't need it, you can turn it off. Similarly, it can also be useful to keep features like Bluetooth, Location, NFC or Hotspot off when not in use.
It is important to keep the temperature in mind for the health of the battery. Avoid using the phone in bright sunlight for a long time or charging it in a hot environment. If the phone is getting too hot, stop using it for some time and let it come to normal temperature.
It is not necessary to drain the battery to 0 percent every time and then charge it to 100 percent. In everyday use, it is considered better to avoid completely draining the phone's battery. Also, keeping the phone from overheating for long periods of time is important for the longevity of the battery.
If despite these settings the phone's battery is draining very fast, the phone remains hot even without use or the battery percentage suddenly fluctuates, then go to the Battery Usage section to see which app is using the most power. Update or uninstall that app if needed. If the problem persists, it is better to contact an authorized service center to check the condition of the battery.
There is always no need to buy a new phone to save battery. Turning off non-essential notifications, limiting background apps, keeping screen brightness and timeout low, and using Battery Saver when needed are small but useful habits.
