Business Desk – LPG e-KYC Deadline 2026: The deadline of August 23, 2026 to complete e-KYC of LPG connection has also passed. Earlier the last date was 16th August, which was extended to 23rd August. Now there is a demand to extend the deadline till 31st August.
However, there is no official confirmation yet on extending the new date after August 23. In such a situation, the customers of Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas who have not done e-KYC are being advised to complete the process soon.

In the absence of e-KYC, customers may face problems in services to LPG connection. Aadhaar based biometric authentication is especially important for eligible customers receiving subsidies. According to IndianOil information, PMUY beneficiaries have to complete biometric Aadhaar authentication every financial year for targeted DBT subsidy.
However, the rules regarding e-KYC may be different for different companies and schemes. Therefore, it would not be correct to say that every customer's domestic cylinder will necessarily be available at commercial price. Customers should check the situation as per current instructions from their gas company.
The most important thing is that the passing of 23rd August does not mean that customers cannot get e-KYC done. The facility to conduct e-KYC may also be available at the gas dealer level. According to information from IndianOil, eligible PMUY customers can do self-biometric e-KYC through IndianOil ONE app or LPG delivery personnel.
In case of any problem in the online process, customers can contact their Indane, HP Gas or Bharat Gas distributor. At present, there has been a demand to extend the deadline till 31st August, but it would not be right to consider it as officially implemented.
For LPG e-KYC, customers can use the app of their respective gas company. For this Aadhaar and mobile number are required. After logging into the app, one has to go to the information to LPG connection and e-KYC option.
After this Aadhaar based face authentication/biometric verification has to be completed. Once the verification is successful, the e-KYC process is completed. IndianOil has also introduced the facility of self-biometric e-KYC for PMUY customers through LPG delivery personnel with the IndianOil ONE app.
After the deadline of 23rd August is over, the biggest question now is whether the date of LPG e-KYC will be extended till 31st August 2026. Currently available reports do not show official confirmation of a new nationwide deadline after August 23. Therefore, instead of waiting for the new date, customers should complete e-KYC as soon as possible.
Note: Rules to e-KYC, LPG subsidy and refill may differ depending on the gas company and plan of the customer. For PMUY, IndianOil has clarified that biometric Aadhaar authentication is part of the process of getting subsidy, while LPG refill will also be continued in its information.
