Liverpool have had a £50 million offer turned down by Crystal Palace for Ismaila Sarr today.
As Fabrizio Romano has confirmed, Liverpool have now identified the Palace talisman as a target as they continue an urgent search in the market for a suitable attacking addition before the transfer deadline.
Liverpool spark late move for Ismaila Sarr.
They had been in discussions this week over a possible deal for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh, but were forced to end that pursuit because the player has been valued at £80 million.
Brighton are not under any pressure to sanction a sale in order to raise money, especially after receiving £65m upfront from Manchester United for Carlos Baleba.
Even so, it appears highly unlikely that United will enter the race at this stage, although it will be interesting to see who they turn to if Zirkzee does move on.
