Rafael Leao is set to become a new Galatasaray player. The forward has accepted an offer worth more than €12 million net, according to reports from Moretto and Di Marzio. As per Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the deal also includes additional bonuses and the contract will run for 4 years.

The Turkish club will pay AC Milan a fixed fee of €45 million, with bonuses expected to take the total package to between €47 million and €50 million. Reports from Fabrizio Romano, Sky and La Gazzetta vary slightly on the exact figures involved.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport DE and insider Football Kush, who is considered very well informed on Rossoneri matters, the agreement also contains a 20% future resale clause. That could eventually take the overall value of the operation beyond €50 million, depending on the amount of any future transfer. The update was later confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Leao waited for Galatasaray to improve their offer and ultimately opted for the Turkish club’s project, along with the enormous salary placed on the table. Not even direct talks with Unai Emery, in which Aston Villa’s vision and his tactical role were explained to him, were enough to change his mind.
