Manchester United have completed a transfer out, with two leading sources disclosing the key details of the agreement.

There is expected to be plenty of transfer activity at Old Trafford in the next few days, with Manchester United looking to bring in two players while also moving on a number of squad members on the fringes.

If Joshua Zirkzee leaves, a new striker will be signed to provide competition for Benjamin Sesko.

Fiorentina have proposed taking Zirkzee on loan with an option to buy, and they would pay a €5m loan fee for the arrangement. Manchester United must now decide whether to accept or turn it down.

A new left-back is still a priority, although the leading target, Lewis Hall, is not available in this transfer window.

With that in mind, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Manchester United are exploring a lower-profile move that would act as a temporary fix before, in all likelihood, making another attempt for Hall in a future window.

According to Romano, a deal similar to the one that brought Sergio Reguilon to the club on loan in 2023 is being considered.

As for departures, Manchester United have now finalised the permanent sale of 22-year-old midfielder Toby Collyer to Championship club West Brom.

The Athletic first reported the development, with reporter Laurie Whitwell saying: ‘Toby Collyer is joining West Bromwich Albion in a permanent deal worth a guaranteed £3million, plus add-ons.

‘Manchester United have accepted the proposal from the Championship side and Collyer has agreed personal terms. United also retain a 40 per cent sell-on.’

Romano then confirmed the update soon after, writing: ‘Toby Collyer has signed documents as new West Brom player on permanent deal from Man United.

‘£3m fee plus £5m add-ons as part of the package. Sell on clause for 40%, as Laurie Whitwell reported.’

Whitwell later provided more detail on the structure of those add-ons, writing: ‘Depending on how Collyer and West Brom perform, the transfer fee could more than double. United believe it is worth a potential £7.6m.

‘The majority of add-ons are said to be achievable, but some relate to West Brom reaching the Premier League and Europe, and Collyer playing for England.’
