Juventus defeated Parma 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium, finally finding a way through a disciplined and compact visiting defence after a goalless first half. Substitute Nicolas Gonzalez put the home side ahead after the interval, and Teun Koopmeiners added the second on his debut appearance after coming on for the injured Andrea Cambiaso.

Luciano Spalletti's team registered back-to-back wins to maintain their strong start to the Serie A campaign. Parma, meanwhile, went a second successive match without scoring.

Juventus pressure and Parma warning

Juventus began on the front foot, with Manuel Locatelli and Douglas Luiz controlling possession in midfield, while Francisco Conceicao caused repeated problems for Parma's defence down the right. In the 27th minute, Luiz dragged an effort wide of the post. Six minutes later, Conceicao struck the outside of the woodwork with a fierce attempt.

Parma had already offered two warnings of their own. Cristian Ordonez failed to take a chance in the 13th minute, and two minutes later Balal Toure sent a dangerous cross towards Simone Lontani, but no one was there to apply the finishing touch.

Jonathan David came close to breaking the deadlock for Juventus in first-half stoppage time. Locatelli and Randal Kolo Muani combined to create the opening, but Parma's defenders cleared his shot away and the teams went into the break level.

Gonzalez opens the way

Juventus started the second half at a higher tempo. Kolo Muani missed two opportunities in the 56th minute before Spalletti introduced Nicolas Gonzalez for David in the 57th minute.

The substitute did not take long to make an impact. His first effort in the 61st minute drifted just wide, but a minute later he broke the deadlock, seeing his shot come back off the post before reacting quickest to turn the rebound into the net.

Still searching for a second goal, Juventus continued to press. Kolo Muani squandered a one-on-one in the 70th minute as Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi produced an excellent save. Parma, in contrast, rarely tested Juventus goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, and by the 72nd minute their passes into the hosts' penalty area had reached that zone only nine times.

Koopmeiners wraps up the job

Spalletti made another change in the 86th minute, with Cambiaso forced off through injury and Koopmeiners sent on in his place. Two minutes later, the Dutch midfielder made sure of the result. Kolo Muani found Locatelli, who laid the ball into the path of Koopmeiners on the left edge of the box, and his accurate left-footed finish nestled in the bottom corner. It was 2-0 after 88 minutes.

Parma tried to find a route back late on but never created a clear opening. Abdoulaye Kounati was booked in the 90+3rd minute for a foul on Kolo Muani, and Juventus closed out a 2-0 victory.
