Serie A club Milan are pushing to bring in a replacement for Rafael Leao at the earliest and are making significant headway in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest’s Omari Hutchinson.

The winger spent his first season with the Tricky Trees during the 2025/26 campaign, which was also his second spell in the Premier League after previously impressing with Ipswich Town.

Gianluca Di Marzio has now reported that talks between the two clubs are gathering pace, with negotiations moving in a positive direction.

The proposed transfer is expected to begin as a loan with an option to buy, and the player is also keen on the move. That option could turn into an obligation to buy if certain conditions are fulfilled. Approval from Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is still awaited, but Milan remain confident that it will not be an issue.

Hutchinson’s natural ability has already been evident at two English clubs, and a move to Milan could be the next step in helping him unlock even more of his potential.

Under Ruben Amorim, the Rossoneri tend to dominate possession more, and that style could suit the Englishman well, as it would give him greater scope to complete take-ons and dribbles in the final third.
