Tezzbuzz Desk- One gets bored of eating the same things for breakfast every day. In such a situation, if the idli batter is already ready in your house, then you can give a new taste to the ordinary idli. Paneer Stuffed Idli is soft from outside and delicious from inside with spicy filling of Paneer.
There is no separate difficult preparation required to make it. Just prepare the mild spicy stuffing of paneer and stuff it between the idli batter and steam it.
First of all, mash or grate the cheese well. Now heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds in it. When cumin starts crackling, add finely chopped onion and green chilli and fry lightly. Now add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala and mix. After this add cheese and salt and mix everything well. Cook the paneer with spices for about 2 minutes. Finally add green coriander and turn off the gas. Keep in mind that the paneer stuffing should not be too wet, otherwise there may be difficulty in filling it inside the idli.
First of all, put water in the steamer and keep it to heat. Grease the idli mold with some oil. Now pour some idli batter in each mould. Place a teaspoon of cheese stuffing in the middle on top of it. Now cover the stuffing completely with idli batter again. Place the idli mold in the steamer and close the lid. Steam the idli for about 10-12 minutes. After cooking, turn off the gas and let the idli cool for a few minutes. Remove the idli from the mold with the help of a spoon and serve it hot.
Paneer Stuffed Idli can be served with coconut chutney, sambar or tomato chutney. The combination of spicy paneer from inside and soft idli from outside makes the breakfast delicious and a little different. While preparing the stuffing, do not add too much water to the paneer and avoid filling the batter too much. This will help the idli to swell and cook properly.
