Juventus have reportedly tabled a new bid with Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee, with the striker favouring a move to Turin over Fiorentina. The Bianconeri have also contacted Newcastle United regarding Nick Woltemade, while Jonathan David is moving closer to joining Atletico Madrid.

The Bianconeri are in the market for at least one new striker following the serious injury suffered by Kenan Yildiz. More importantly, they also appear to be at an advanced stage in talks to send Jonathan David to Atletico Madrid on loan with an option to buy.

If the Canada men’s national team player is moved off the club’s books, it would finally open up the space needed for Juventus to bring in a forward considered more suitable for coach Luciano Spalletti’s style of play.

Zirkzee has been pushing for a return to Serie A for several months, and a number of sources had indicated that he was delaying over Fiorentina’s interest because he was hoping Juventus would eventually make their move.

According to Sky Sport Italia, that process is now under way, with a new proposal submitted to Manchester United consisting of a paid loan and an option to buy for €30m.

At the same time, Sky Sport Italia also report that Juventus are keeping a fallback plan in place and have therefore got in touch with Newcastle United to check on Woltemade’s availability.

This is not the first occasion on which the Newcastle United centre-forward has been linked with Serie A, as there had already been reports in recent days that Napoli had made an approach.

Zirkzee remains the clear first-choice target, however, and that creates a problem for Fiorentina, who will not allow Moise Kean to join Como until they have brought in a replacement.
