Weather changed due to heavy rain in Delhi-NCR, orange-yellow alert issued in many areas

New Delhi: The weather has suddenly changed in Delhi and surrounding NCR areas on Tuesday evening. Let us tell you that at many places it is raining along with strong winds, which has brought relief to the people suffering from humidity and heat. Amid changes in the weather, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts for different parts of the capital.

In which areas the weather changed

Moderate rain was recorded in many parts of South-East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North-East, South, New Delhi, West, North-West and North Delhi on Tuesday evening. Along with this, light rain and drizzle is also likely to continue in some areas.

Rain forecast in Ghaziabad and Noida also

The Meteorological Department has also issued a weather warning for some areas of western Uttar Pradesh adjacent to Delhi. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar during the next few hours. During this period, light to moderate rain may occur at some places.

Alert regarding waterlogging and traffic

Due to rain, waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas of Delhi-NCR. Apart from this, there is a possibility of traffic getting affected due to accumulation of water on underpasses and major roads. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has advised drivers to exercise caution. At the same time, people have been appealed to avoid unnecessary travel during rains and not to use waterlogged roads. Also, in view of lightning and strong winds during heavy rains, it has been advised to avoid going to open places.
